Background

Sara B. Allman is an experienced trial attorney and appellate law advocate. Sara is a member of the State Bar of California, the State Bar of Nevada (inactive), the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States District Court for the Eastern and Northern Districts of California, and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Sara graduated cum laude, with distinction in French, from the California State University at Sonoma. She also studied Latin and Spanish in college, and, through these studies, developed a love of language, literature, and grammar. She received her law degree from Golden Gate University School of Law. During law school, she participated in the mock trial program and became interested in civil litigation. She also had the good fortune as a law student to work as a judicial extern at the California Court of Appeal, First Appellate District, Division One, assisting with legal research and drafting bench memoranda. It was there that Sara discovered her passion for appellate law.

Over the course of her career as a lawyer, Sara has drafted countless briefs and petitions in diverse areas of law, including personal injury, real estate, landlord-tenant, ADA, products liability, professional liability, civil rights, family law, premises liability and construction defect. Perhaps her favorite thing about being an appellate lawyer is that she is always learning something new. When retained as appellate counsel after judgment, she brings a fresh, objective perspective to the case, as well as a complete understanding of the appellate process.

When she isn’t practicing law, Sara actively volunteers in the legal community. She served as a Director of the Marin County Bar Association from 2009 through 2011. She served on the Executive Committee of the Appellate Law Section of the Bar Association of San Francisco from 2018 through 2021 and on the Queen’s Bench Amicus Briefs Committee from 2018 through 2020. She has coached the Redwood High School mock trial team since the 2011-2012 season.

Outside the legal realm, Sara enjoys hiking, baking, and music.
